Dear Beth,
It was great to talk to you today. Thanks so much for the pictures. I can imagine that getting the hotplate really improved life. It would have for me, for sure.
That's really awful about the previous volunteer who did so much damage. It is hard to imagine that kind of psyche, isn't it?
It is really interesting what you say about measures taken to help disabled people. That was one of the areas in which progress was first made in Russia too after the Fall of the Wall. Perhaps it is less ideologically (or whatever) difficult to adopt such practices than it is to take on some others.
